What this is

Termcapsule keeps a class time capsule: a teacher makes a class, pupils write letters with the code on their slip, and the teacher releases them on the day they choose. Sealed letters are private until release; after release the teacher can read every letter and each code opens its own letter. Termcapsule does not read, screen or moderate letters.

Your school's rules

By making a class you confirm that you follow your school's rules, and any rules of your school district or education authority, on pupil work, on using online tools with pupils, and on safeguarding. If a letter raises a concern, follow your school's safeguarding procedure. Nothing on this site is legal advice.

Names used

Termcapsule is not affiliated with any school, school district, education authority or letter-to-the-future service.

Payments

No paid plan is offered at present; if one is added, this page will describe it.

Your content

Pupils' letters belong to them and their teacher, not to Termcapsule. You decide who gets a slip and when the class is released. You can download your classes and delete your account at any time from the account page; the privacy page says exactly what is stored and for how long.

Acceptable use

Use a class for your own pupils' letters. Do not ask pupils for names, addresses or other private details, do not try to guess links or codes, and do not send requests at a rate that degrades the site for other people. Classes that break these terms may be removed.

Warranty and liability

The site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind, and runs within free hosting limits that can make it busy for a while. To the extent the law allows, Termcapsule is not liable for any loss arising from its use, including a letter that was not saved or a slip or link that was shared further than intended.
